I read that

For those who use Preview to combine PDF documents, Snow Leopard has added a twist to the process. In earlier versions of Preview, combining documents was simply a matter of dragging the individual pages from one document’s sidebar to the other document’s sidebar, and then rearranging the pages by dragging them up and down in the sidebar...

10.6: View an email message’s folder path in Mail
Locating an email message in your Mail folder hierarchy is now a snap. As of Snow Leopard’s version of Mail, if you open a message in a new window, Command-clicking (or Control-clicking) on the icon in the title bar of the message window will reveal the path to the enclosing folder for the message (just like it does in the Finder). Select...

iPad Guided Tours Reveal More Of Apple’s “My Documents”
The iPad Guided Tours that Apple published yesterday are a great way of getting a better idea of what it will actually be like to use an iPad. But they also show us how Apple’s own “My Documents” feature – first spotted by us back in February – will work. Documents are displayed large, and you flip  Read More →

Apple’s iPad will be available at the company’s own retail locations on April 3 along with Best Buy locations around the U.S., but don’t expect to see many units in Best Buy stores on launch day. Convert HTML documents to FictionBook format
If you’d like to create FictionBook format (.fb2) electronic books on a Mac, here’s a simple way to create one — at least for documents that are in HTML format. In my case, it was an RTF document which was exported as a web page from Microsoft Word 2008. Upload the file to any available public resource such as the Public folder...

Move BBedit 9’s Documents drawer to the left side
I’ve been trying to move over from Smultron to BBEdit for most of my text editing needs, as Smultron isn’t officially supported any longer. One thing that I found very annoying in BBEdit 9 is that the Documents drawer appears on the right, with no apparent way to move it to the right (in older versions, I believe there was a preference...

Arghh damn ipad.. have to say, I’ve been entirely unimpressed with this device in the run-up to release, but in reading this review, I was actually swayed for the first time and felt the impulse to go out and buy one. I won’t… yet… not until they can cram a few more of the missing features into a future release. I really need a digitizer/stylus for note-taking and a USB port to offload files.

So ipad or not? Im tempted, but not quite. The limitations mentioned are pretty significant. I’ll wait for more widespread HTML5 adoption, multi-tasking, the next wave of apps and a webcam. Great review though, surprisingly balanced.
